Quality, ethics and environment

A company is a collection of men and women who perform various activities in order to establish the company’s products and services in the national and international marketplace. These activities are controlled by complex corporate management systems which are designed to monitor and performance and, over time, to improve it.
A Management System is a tool which a company decides to adopt to put in order the planning, organisation, execution and control of specific activities necessary for achieving its improvement goals. Implementing a management system means building a comprehensive framework around the connected themes, allowing the enterprise to tackle these themes in a global, systematic and consistent way for the purposes of continually improving its performance in this regard.
Various types of specific Management Systems may be adopted - for example, an environmental management system, an ethical management system and a quality management system - each of which is applied to a particular domain and responds to requirements laid down by specific standards: the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 quality standard, the UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 environmental standard and the SA 8000:2008 ethical standard. Each of these systems fits naturally into the company’s general management system: a system which is strictly observed, stable and actively implemented will be integrated successfully into the company. It is possible to combine multiple standards into a unique management system, taking full advantage of the natural overlaps and interaction between the individual systems: this results in an Integrated Management System, which a company employs to demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development in every aspect of its operations.
This is the logic behind Emak’s commitment to voluntarily adopting and maintaining an Integrated Management System capable of providing a global response to requirements for quality, environmental protection and the promotion of human capital, as laid down by the three relative standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and SA 8000.
